Trek

Middle School: Trek

Trek is our middles school (6th–8th grades) student ministry where they gather to explore their relationship with Christ and others.

At Trek we seek to increase that strong, gospel-centered foundation in our students they experienced in GraceKids Ministry through learning and studying the Word of God and living out biblical community in small groups. Our hope is to partner with parents in helping students go deeper with each other, their leaders and, most importantly, God.

Sunday Mornings (9:00am-10:45am)

Trek impacts your student through two environments. One of these is large group in the Youth Room (203), where students first meet to interact in games and vibrant worship with live music, as well as to learn from inspirational speakers. The goal of large group is to set up fun and meaningful discussions in small group.

Wednesday Nights (7:00pm-8:30pm)

The second environment is small group. Small groups provide the fuel that drives students to make good choices during the week. Ideally led by two adult leaders, each small group includes students from the same grade and gender. Students enjoy getting together outside of church with their Small Group Leaders and small groups for community service, personal/spiritual growth, and additional fun. Our goal is that each small group remains together for the duration of middle school. On occasion, a group that grows too large will be multiplied to keep relationships personal. But don’t worry—friends and former leaders are always around!

Retreats

Join other middle school students for another vibrant weekend of worship, teaching, games, and small group bonding. Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this time together. All In Weekend and the Spring Retreat focus on students’ personal relationship with God and helps them incorporate spiritual disciplines into their lives. These are popular event, so be sure to register soon. All In Weekend is an in-town retreat while the Spring Retreat is out of town at Mountain Top Youth Camp. Check the City for more info on these events.

Events

A few times a year we do large group events to unwind, laugh, and grow tighter as a community. These are also easy, non-threatening opportunities for students to invite friends to join them in “church” and to be used as a way to introduce them to the God who created fun. We have three planned events this year: Lazer X in Archdale, Midnight Broom Hockey at the Ice House, and Nerf Wars at Grace. Check the City for more info on these events.

The Bridge

High School: The Bridge

In The Bridge, we seek to keep building gospel maturity in our students and help them grow in deeper relationships with each other, their leaders and, most importantly, the Lord. On a weekly basis, our students meet in small groups that are broken up by age and gender to learn and study God’s Word and to foster biblical community at a young age.

Sunday Nights (5:00pm-7:00pm)

At The Bridge, we’ve created a large group environment for high school students. We seek to make this large group time as fun and relevant as we possibly can.

Then we go a couple steps further and do two things we believe are vitally important for you: we pay attention to what’s going on in your life, and we care about you. This happens in our small groups. Every week after large group, you will get together with your small group to spend time in a more intimate setting, talking, processing, and praying about what’s going on in your lives.

We do this because we seek to keep building gospel maturity in our students and help them grow in deeper relationships with each other, their leaders and, most importantly, the Lord. It’s simple: big group to small group. The goal is for you to leave feeling energized to go out there and tackle another week!

But it doesn’t end there. We want every high school student to have the opportunity to serve, to mobilize their faith, and to grow in their relationship with Jesus. We believe this happens in two ways. Serving and Bible Study.

Student Serve

So we’ve opened the doors for high school students to serve in GraceKids, GracePlace, Trek, First Touch, or the A/V Team on Sunday mornings during one of our services. Whether it’s setting up, leading a small group, or helping run production, there are many ways to get involved. Students who want to serve should tell their small group leaders.

High School Bible Study (Wednesday Nights 7:00pm-8:30pm)

The Student Ministry hosts High School Bible Study every Wednesday night. This is a great opportunity for high school students to take a break from the week to learn more about God in a relaxed, casual environment and develop new friendships. It also provides the opportunity for students to be mentored in taking the for Bible Study leader role with their peers. We hope you’ll join us on Wednesdays!
