WE Shelter – December 8 – March 31: This winter, the Eagle’s Nest will be home to 12 men. We need your help to provide meals and snacks, and to greet residents in the evenings. We also need men to stay overnight. Our WE Shelter Coordinators will be in the Eagle’s Nest the next few Sundays after worship to give more information and answer questions. Please check out the Amazon Wishlist for supply donations. Please click the links below to read volunteer descriptions and to volunteer. Stand in the Gap Month Prayer Space – November: As a church, we have set aside the month of November to consider how God is asking us to be a people who practically care for vulnerable kids, both before and after their birth. Our prayer space will be open throughout the month of November in the Eagle’s Nest. You may book time in the prayer space with this link beginning November 3.
Youth Fundraiser – November 3 – 30: Help us defray the cost of the Youth Mission Trip 2025 and provide scholarships for youth ministry retreats and events. There will be a banner on the Eagle’s Nest Patio with 144 numbered envelopes on Sunday mornings. You may also donate online. Click this link and find Youth Fundraiser in the drop menu beginning November 1.
Gifts of Grace Collection – November 10 -24: Gifts of Grace is a way of blessing our Wednesday Community Fellowship guests each Christmas season. Socks and underwear are one of the biggest needs for people experiencing homelessness and people who are under-resourced. Grace will supply socks and some fun gifts for each guests…we need you to supply the underwear! Please check out our Amazon wish list HERE and send packs of new underwear to Grace. If you choose to purchase from somewhere else, please purchase multi-packs that include about 5 boxers or panties. Collection bins will be in the Eagle’s Nest November 10 – 24. Please purchase adult sizes only. Westover Church will supply gifts for kids and youth.
Grief Care for the Holidays – November 24: While grief can and does hit at any time, it can be even more prevalent during the holiday season, when everything in our culture says, “Be happy” and we feel the absence of loved ones most acutely. We are welcoming a grief counselor from Authoracare (formerly Hospice of Greensboro) to give us guidance in how to navigate these difficult times. Please register HERE for this session.
Baptism – December 8: Baptism is an important step in our faith journey. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances to be observed by all believers until His return, Baptism and The Lord’s Supper (Communion). Their observance by all believers is urged (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Our next baptism will be December 8. If you would like to take this step in your walk with Jesus, please register for baptism with this link to share your testimony and meet with a pastor. Please register by November 28.
Women’s Christmas Dinner – December 8: Enjoy a very special night that ladies look forward to all year! As we press into our theme “Serve One Another” we will hear from a panel of leaders in our community (Dayna Carr, Mattie Neese and Debbie Galdo) on how the Lord has given them opportunities to serve. Dinner will be Bill Bishop’s famous smoked chicken along with some sides. Please invite a friend and bring your favorite dessert to share. Our new women’s ministry t-shirts will be available to purchase for $10. Information to sign up for women’s retreat will be available as well. See you there!

WEDNESDAY: Wednesday Community Fellowship dinner is provided every Wednesday at 5:45pm in our sanctuary. All who need a hot meal are welcome! Children are served with their parents/guardians at the family table. No meal served on December 25.
