Weekly Grace News: July 31, 2023

Events and Reminders:

One Service, One Family – Now through Sept 3: This summer, we will come together as family each Sunday! We will worship together in a single service at 10:00am and then head to the front lawn for fellowship and special treats! Feel free to bring a blanket and enjoy popsicles, ice cream and more each Sunday right after service. There will be no 8:30am service held now – Sept. 3.

Say YES Fest – Aug 6: Please join us for this fun event where you can find out about different service needs within the church and sign up for your part in ministering with our church family!

Youth Pool Party – Aug 6: Join us for some good old fashioned water fun!

New Life Classes – Aug 12 & 13: A class for 2nd – 5th grade students to learn more about the best life – a life with God. Sign up now on Realm!

Youth Water Wars – Aug 13: It’s game time! Grace Youth is hosting a full-on water battle, so prepare to get wet and have a blast!

“Hungry Man’s” Prayer Breakfast – Aug 19: Men of Grace, join us at 8:30am to enjoy a biscuit, some coffee/tea/juice, and prayer for one another and our community. See more details here.

Baptism (Church at the Lake) – Aug 27: If you’re interested in baptism during Church at the Lake, now is the time to register on Realm!

Church at the Lake – Aug 27: This event is a highlight of our summer! We will be at Camp Weaver worshipping together lakeside. We will have baptisms (sign up now), as well as a time of swimming, play, and lunch. It’s definitely a date to go ahead and put on your calendar!

Promotion Sunday – Sept 10: Our kids are growing, growing, GROWING! It’s time to promote them to their upcoming grades in their Sunday School classes. More details here.

Women’s Fall Kickoff – Sept 10: Ladies of Grace, we are so excited to get together again! Bring a chair and join us on the back lawn for a time of games, fellowship, and a message.

Youth Fall Kickoff – Sept 10: Grace Youth is kicking off on Sunday, September 10th for students in grades 6-12. There will be games, prizes, snacks, student-led worship, teaching and small group time.

Men’s Pigskin Preview – Sept 17: Men of Grace, stick around after second service and join us for football, food, and fellowship as we watch some NFL games and hear more about out upcoming Men’s Weekend in October. More details here.

Calvary Christian Center Convocation – Sept 27: Our Grace family has been invited to join Calvary Christian Center’s convocation. Dinner will be served at 6pm, and then Marshall Benbow will be the guest speaker from 7-9pm. Once registration is available, please sign up on Realm so we may give them an accurate head count for food.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS

ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter: Grace needs someone to help out with ASL interpretation on Sunday mornings (10am services). Email office@gracegso.org if you or someone you know is willing to serve!

GraceKids Teachers: We need volunteers to pour the love of God into our kids! If you’re interested in teaching, please contact Lee at lsimmons@gracegso.org.

WCF Assistance: We need some extra hands for Wednesday Community Fellowship. Please reach out to Jennifer at jholloway@gracegso.org.

Buddies Needed: We need 2-3 people to join our buddy team! Buddies are men and women who offer one-on-one care for kids in our family who need some specialized attention on Sunday morning. This position serves 2 times a month during one service. If you are interested but don’t have any experience, we can train you! Please Email Tracy Anderson (tanderson@gracegso.org) to learn more.

WEDNESDAY: Wednesday Community Fellowship dinner is provided every Wednesday at 6pm in our sanctuary. All who need a hot meal are welcome! Children may be served with their parents.
