Demetrius Ponder, a native from Atlanta, Ga, graduated from Clark-Atlanta University in Atlanta in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.  He attended CAU on music scholarships in percussion and voice and travelled extensively performing throughout the US and abroad.  He worked as an engineer briefly in Chicago prior to being relocated to Greensboro, NC in 2001 and has been a Grace attendee since that time.  A career change allowed Demetrius to transition into the financial services industry where he has worked since 2004.  This transition afforded him additional educational opportunities and he completed The Banking School at Wake Forest University in 2013.  Demetrius came to know the Lord as a child and grew-up in a family that put Christ ahead of every decision.  He is most proud of how the Lord has grown him in the knowledge of His Word and has placed brothers around him to help him be an accountable man, husband and father.  His family is the most important thing to him and he seeks God on how to be the priest of his home, leading by example as the scriptures teach.  Since attending Grace Demetrius has served as a Men’s Small Group Leader, on the Grace Marriage Team, as Vice- Chairman of the Finance Team and as Coordinator of Worship.  Demetrius’ favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not until your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path”
