Hank Mangum is a native of Monroe, NC. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1974, earned an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 1978, with a major in Accounting, and earned a law degree from Wake Forest in 1981. He was licensed in NC as an attorney in 1981, moved to Greensboro shortly thereafter to begin his first job, and practiced law in Greensboro for 41+ years. In 1984, he was licensed in NC as a Certified Public Accountant. Also that year, he married Janice, his wife of 38+ years. Shortly after marrying and following a Lay Witness Mission at the local church that he and Janice then attended with many of her family members, Hank accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. In 2001, he and Janice began attending Grace and in subsequent years here, he has served at various times as Treasurer and a member of the Finance Team, as a Children’s Ministry Team flex sub, as a Vacation Bible School worker, as an usher and Deacon of the First Touch Ministry (ushers), as an overnight volunteer at the WE shelter, and as a member of the Marriage Team. He feels blessed to be part of the caring church family which is Grace and considers it a privilege to serve here when the opportunity arises. A favorite Bible verse of Hank’s is 1 Peter 2:21 (NIV), which says “[t]o this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
